• Question: can putting a bread poultice on a splinter draw it out of your skin?

      I’ve not heard of bread poultice – I know from my childhood that my mum and a needle was always successful….and painful!

      No alas it can’t – tweezers always worked for me

      Doesn’t sound very “medical” to me, but lots of “old wives tales” have an element of truth in them – I’ve never tried this myself, prefer to just dig big holes in my fingers until it falls out (or I pass out…)
