I have a website that allows you to “virtually” blow stuff up – it’s designed to teach you about what happens when asteroids and comets hit the Earth, which is a pretty bit explosion: http://down2earth.eu
My normal day job/life only involves blowing things up when I’ve messed something up (usually involving a microwave oven and not reading the instructions on a packet…).
Not on purpose. Well kinda. In my research we used to burst cells to collect their insides. We did that using detergents or water or physical force and looked under a microscope to make sure they had popped.
Dry ice dropped in hot water is pretty awesome too, and if you add soap it makes a bubble fountain with bubbles full of CO2 vapor!
