I do – there is the head of my lab who is my boss. Thad said I do get a lot of freedom to research what I’m interested in, though it does have to be focussed in the area my boss wants
Yep, my boss is a nice lady called Jacquie. She is the leader of our team and helps me with my work so that we support UK research the best way we can.
In a lab, my boss was my advisor (or PI, Primary Invstigator) who did basically the same thing, helped me design my experiments to answer a question in the best way.
Not really. Not in the sense that I get told what to do.
One of the best things about being a research scientist is that you get to do pretty much whatever you want, as long as you’re having good ideas and producing results.
