      We don’t know. There is insufficient evidence to say one way or another from the data we have.

      There is currently a lot of debate about whether they have shown the possible presence of bacterial life on mars – it certainly is a possibility as there evidence some water there I think

      but we really don’t know – we need more data!

      No, but I’d be interested to be proved wrong! There are certainly some interesting chemicals on Mars that hint at the potential for something like life.

      I think there might have been bacteria and microbes on Mars 3-4 billion years ago, when it was warmer and wetter than it is now. Even today, there may be areas below the surface that are capable of supporting microbes – but I don’t think there are aliens living there, like you see in movies.

      If we can find enough liquid water, and an energy source, we have a good chance of finding some sort of very basic life I think.
