      I draw lots of diagrams because it helps me to think and to get things clear in my head. Sometimes I draw bits of the ATLAS detector to help me to visualise what is going on when a particle flies through a certain place in it.

      Other times I draw `Feynman diagrams’ which are simple drawings with different kinds of lines (straight, wavy, curly) for different particles. There are rules that tell you how the lines can be joined together.

      And other times I draw pictures of giraffes wearing hats. Doodling has been proven to help people think…
