      Pupation is a total wonder of the earth isn’t it? One day it’s a fat wormy like creature which is a bit ugly. The next minute it’s the most beautiful flying insect. Anyway, they think a hormone in the body starts the whole thing off. And their entire insides are broken down into a dodgy soup. Then this is rebuilt into the body of the insect. Sometimes this happens while the pupa is hanging from a branch, other times it happens underground. When the insect emerges it dries its wings and then flies off!
