I’m Paul – being a “Doctor” (in my case of astronomy) is only useful when I’m talking to police officers or someone in a bank, where they might think I was a bit more reliable/trustworthy etc.! To most people, I’m still “Rochey”, which is what I’ve been called since I was little. I don’t think titles are good, they make people seem more important than they really are. I’m just me, I just did an extra 3.5 years of project work to get a qualification that means technically I am Dr. Roche – but hardly anyone ever calls me that!

Erm I guess it depends how formal the occasion is!

To them I’d probably be introduced as Dr Roberts, as I have a pHd in biochemistry so I guess I would be introduced like that

To my mates I’m Mark which I prefer much more. I’m not a formal person at all

I’m not into formal titles. Plus I haven’t got a PhD!
