So you are talking about cryogenic freezing and this concept that you can freeze a human – if you give then special chemcials to make sure their cells don’t burst!

There are people (mainly in the US) who are paying companies to freeze them – they often have diseases that we currently can’t cure and their hope is to stay frozen until someone can cure them

So yes it is possible and is indeed happening!

That’s called cryonics and some people have been frozen in the belief that they will be brought back to life at some point. Its a controversial science with many people believing its not really possible and that the human body is too complex and delicate to be able to undergo such extremes. If the technology does develop I think those people already cryopreserved may not be able to be ‘woken’ because they were preserved in a primitive way.

Some people certainly believe this is going to happen, and they spend lots of money being frozen. I’m not sure I’d want to die and then be brought back to life sometime in the future – everyone you knew would be gone, and life would probably be very different, so you’d feel very “alone” I think.

Or maybe it will be like Futurama – that would be fun…

p.s. if you are going to do this, I’d suggest putting a bit of money in a bank account and making sure you keep the details safe – if you came back to life in say 1,000 years, the interest you would have earned would make you extremely rich!

People have already been frozen in the hope that the technology will exists in the future.

Personally I hope it doesn’t. Death is a part of life. When we die we make room on the planet for new life, that has to be better than the same people just living on and on forever and noone new ever being born.
