• Question: What are the chances of a -miracle- cure that can cure any ailment affecting the human body? What form would it come in? Where would it come from? Would it be a gift blessed upon us from a god, or be made by some scientists slaving day and night over a bit of bacteria in agar jelly|

Chances – zero! The human body and diseases are far too complex for it just to be one cure.

there will be many cures for many diseases and they will come from scientists working in labs, understanding how each disease works and then designing or finding drugs or methods that prevent the disease from either happening or from having bad symptoms

I think it could be possible but not for many years yet. Scientists are developing a field of science called personalised medicine that tailors treatments and preventative action to everyone’s individual genetic map. So this could potentially eliminate most diseases but there is still a lot of work to do!

Not as far as I can tell. Biologically we’re programed to break down over time.

How about nano-technology? I’ve read science fiction books where people have nano-machines in their bodies that constantly repair damage etc., keeping them healthy and allowing them to live for a long time – it’s only in stories at the moment, but it sounds like a great idea….
