I think it’s a combination of the “detective work” to try and solve a problem, and telling people about my subject area (astronomy). I like investigating problems and trying to use my skills, knowledge and experience (and that of my colleagues – mainly theirs to be honest!) to figure out the answer, but I also like trying to help other people understand and appreciate science more by telling them some of the amazing things about our Universe.
