I remember this coming up in the chat. It’s a very difficult topic but my feelings are actually very similar to what the current UK law is.
I think that it should be able to happen if and only if it will save the woman’s life or prevent permanent injury to the woman physically or mentally or if the child was likely to be severely physically or mentally handicapped.
I also think the current system requiring two medical doctors to certify this is a sensible plan.
Decisions like this are always hard , but I think you do need to take the health of the woman into account
Abortion is when a pregnancy is terminated for medical or other reasons.
Some times a woman chooses to have an abortion because she will die if she does not, or because the child will be so seriously ill that it will have nothing but pain in its life if it is born, or because she is young and unmarried with no job, or because she has 4 children already and can’t afford to feed another one. There are probably hundreds more reasons.
In all of these cases I believe strongly that it should be the choice of the woman. I also believe that absolutely no good can come from forcing girls and women to bring children in to the world if they don’t want them.
To be honest I don’t really think about it much. In England its not really a contentious issue like it is in other places. But I believe a woman should be able to make that choice if she really thinks is best.
