Question: What do you think of the LHC?

I think I love the LHC like some people love their favourite painting or piece of music.
The twenty year effort that went into designing and building it seems like nothing when I consider the possiblities it opens up for the human race.
We made it because we have an overwhelming desire to understand what the universe is made of and how it works. I think that is what makes humans so special: we could just sit around scratching our bums and eating insects but we don’t, we think and create and explore.
Okay, we do sometimes sit around scratching our bums.

I would love to work to work in LHC but I dont think I’m good enough to actually get in.

I never thought I was good enough to get in either. I just kept going with my studies and then one day I woke up and I was working on the LHC.
