• Question: why is sulphur + oxygern = sulphur dioxide

      sulphur + 2 oxygen is sulphur dioxide I think.

      ‘di’ before the word means two and ‘mono’ means one.

      The sulphur atoms are attracted to the oxygen atoms. They want to be together!
