0 Question: why is sulphur + oxygern = sulphur dioxide Asked by nypdonttouch to Lily on 23 Jun 2010 in Categories: General.
Lily Asquith answered on 23 Jun 2010:
sulphur + 2 oxygen is sulphur dioxide I think.
‘di’ before the word means two and ‘mono’ means one.
The sulphur atoms are attracted to the oxygen atoms. They want to be together!
