Water is wet because it likes to exist as a liquid at room temperature. When I say it ‘likes to’, what I actuallly mean is that the H2O (water) molecules arrange themselves differently according to the temperature they are at. At room temperature they keep a comfortable distance from one another, allowing them to ‘flow’ as a liquid. If it gets very cold, they huddle close to one another, forming a solid (ice) and if they get very hot, they move very far away from another (steam).

Ah, that’s tough. Dry water is just gas. I guess I don’t know!

      Oooh that’s a tough one

I guess it’s to do with how the body senses liquid – it senses it as being wet.

Water is wet because that’s the sensation we feel when we come into contact with it.
