I hope so, I work for the Environment Agency after all! The Environment Agency is responsible for looking after the environment in England and Wales. So we regulate pollution from factories, help reduce climate change, promote sustainable living and reduce water use.

Not in particular, but the other members of my team work on climate and energy to inform environmentally sustainable solutions to our energy production and consumption.

Sadly not, as I study distant stars. But I hope that the way I live my life will help the environment, or at least not damage is so much – so less driving, more cycling; less rubbish thrown away, more recycling; less flying overseas to conferences and meetings, more use of Skype and video-conferencing. If my research can’t help the environment, at least I can try and minimise the harm that I do with my everyday life.
